About the Dances

The choreographer is an original artist who is between the music and the dancer. It is an inborn gift, Amalia Hernandez, besides having it, she had one more quality, unique, a magnificent theatrical sense that stamps the spectacle with a brilliant and ascendant rhythm.

Frequently, she review and renovate it and take good care of it with love.

Searching for the mexican elements, Amalia Hernandez crossed the Republic with a huge technical team and with specialized personnel. The dances were filmed, the music recorded, and the costumes photographed with detail. She observed the environment and the reaction of the people from the different towns. After this came the study period. Assimilation, and at the least, of recreation of the dances; recreating them in a theatrical way.

From one of the farthest places of the country, a fascinating dance emerges, full of movement and rhythms that strikes in our inside: The deer, who fascinates the public and leaves them without breath. The hunting of one of the most beautiful animals and the long lasting tragedy of it’s death.

To one single dancer, this small piece is the most important solo masculine dance of the whole repertoire through the centuries of theatrical dance. This dance is in fact the equivalent to the Death of Anna Pavlova´s swan. It is the greatest solo for a man. Thinking of this dance is to remember Jorge Tyller who executed it as nobody have done it.
